I chased my heart down south to find what I lost. I was moving further the more state lines we crossed, but the North Star brought me back home to you. Winter was shivering and shaking in my boots, digging my heels in deep to try and feel my roots but the ground was frozen over. The clouds hide the sunshine you are. Every turn of the wheel, and every hour of lost sleep...it's for you and me.

I could be patient and take it as it comes. That's not a virtue I learned, why walk when you can run? I can't tell if time is taking too long or if I don't have enough.
So let's hope my eyes don't lose their shine when I get home. I know if I had to I'd let this life go. With every turn of the wheel, and every hour of lost sleep...I'll be up watching signs pass keeping track of miles and feet.

You're the reason I came home from the war.

The road doesn't call as loud or scream as it did before. I miss the life with the clear skies. I miss the quiet and peace. I've been in the dark, chasing the sun you are, rising in the east. I can finally sleep.
